Green Valley

This 22 acre gated community was designed for Shree Balaji Construction in Ahmedabad. It consists of 48 villas and a clubhouse. The issue addressed here was to integrate a house perfectly in its environment. The other concern was to creatively separate the private and the public areas of the built form. In response to the above, the ground plane was split up and raised to accommodate the private areas of the house. In this process the public spaces and the semi-public spaces were inhabited below the uplifted private block. The surface of each villa is landscaped with living areas tucked under it.

The stroke of elevating not only demarcated the public from the private but also contributed in achieving fantastic viewpoints, light conditions and landscaping for the construct. Light conditions were played with, by iterating the northern frontal façade and the southern façade too. Two deck areas were attained amongst which one is of a public nature and the other being private.

Green valley residency villas accomplish the idea of a community housing in every villa by providing for large green open spaces which have a public character, alongside a designed component of a clubhouse in the property which encourages social interaction, group discussions and exchange of ideas at all levels.
